- SIGNIFICANT MILESTONES1997 – The foundation stone for the college building was laid by Haji A. Younus Kunju, Former MLA and Founder Chairman of Fathima Memorial Educational Trust.
1997 – Affiliation for the B.Ed. degree course with six optional subjects -English,Malayalam,Social Science,Mathematics,Natural Science, Physical Science was granted by the University of Kerala with an intake of 100 seats.
1997 – The first batch of the B.Ed. course was inaugurated by Sri P. J. Joseph, Hon’ble Minister for Education, Government of Kerala.1998 – The new block was inaugurated by Janab Panakkad Syed Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal.
2005 – Fourteen teaching practice schools were sanctioned by the District Educational Officer (DEO),Kollam.
2006-Granted minority status by National Commission for Minority Educational Institution ,Govt of India.
2009–Organised National Seminar on the topic “Student Progression :An integrated Guidance and Counselling Perspective” on 16 &17,December
2010–Organised National Seminar on the topic “Combating Learning Disability:Pedagogue Tactics” on 23&24,June
2010 – Academic linkage was established with the Block Resource Centre (BRC) to strengthen collaborative educational practices.
2010 – Academic linkage was established with NISH (National Institute of Speech and Hearing) to enhance inclusive and special education practices.
2010 – Provisional affiliation for the M.Ed. degree course was granted by the University of Kerala with an intake of 25 seats.2011 – Approval was granted by the University of Kerala to enhance the intake for the M.Ed. course from 25 to 35 students.
2011 – The college newsletter “SURGE” was launched to strengthen communication through sharing institutional updates.
2012 – The college was accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade, achieving a CGPA of 3.19.
2012 – Dr. N. D. Joshi Memorial Award for Institutional Excellence was instituted by the Council for Teacher Education,Kerala Chapter.
2012 – A Learner Support Centre was sanctioned by the University of Kerala for UG and PG programmes.2012- Organised National seminar on the topic “Honing Research Skills” on 12 November
2013-Organised International Seminar on the topic “Innovation,Quality and Excellence in Education IQEE” on 10 & 12,January
2013 – The Charity Club “Servion” was established to promote social service, community outreach, and student volunteerism.
2013-Organised NAAC sponsored National Seminar on the topic “Best Practices in Education for 21st Century” on 10 &11 December
2014 – Mr. Jayapraveen J., M.Ed. student (2013-2014 Batch) from English Optional, secured Second Rank in the M.Ed. Degree Examination.
2015 – A fully equipped Computer Laboratory was established with thirty computers
2015 – NCTE approval was granted for conducting the two-year B.Ed. programme with an annual intake of 100 students (two basic units of 50 each).
2015 – Permission was granted by the University of Kerala to admit two basic units of 50 students each to the B.Ed. course.
2015 – An Online Examination Centre was sanctioned by the University of Kerala.2016 – Academic linkage was established with DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) to strengthen teacher training and academic collaboration.
2017 – Ms Divya N. M.Ed. student (2015-2017Batch)from Physical Science Optional, secured First Rank in the M.Ed.Degree Examination
2018 – Ms Darsana S. Dharan M.Ed. student (2016-2018Batch)from English Optional secured Fourth Rank in the M.Ed. Degee Examination
2019 – Ms Chinmayi S. M.Ed. student(2017-2019 Batch) from Physical Science Optional secured Fifth Rank in the M.Ed. Degree Examination,
2020-Academic Linkage was established with Life skills BVET (Behavioural Vocational Education and Training)Centre for institutional twinning and collaborative academic development.
2020 – Ms Princy Das M.Ed student (2018-2020 Batch)from Natural Science Optional secured Third Rank in the M.Ed.Degree Examination
2020 – A Palliative Care Unit was established to provide compassionate healthcare support to the community.2020-The University Anthem of Sree Narayana Guru Open University was composed by the Department of Music
2020- Coaching programmes for KTET,SET,CTET, PSC examinations were introduced for enhancing students’ success in competitive examinations.
2021 – The college was selected as a venue for the Kerala University Youth Festival.
2022-Adopted Devi Vilasom L.P. School as part of social outreach initiatives, strengthening community engagement and promoting educational development.
2022-Organised National Seminar on the topic “Revitalization of Teacher Education System for a Self-reliant India” in Collaboration with Vidyabhyasa Vikas Kendram,Kerala on 14 &15 December
2022 – The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of excellence in Teacher Education.
2022 – Academic linkage was established with the Young Innovators Programme (YIP) to promote innovation and student entrepreneurship.
2022 – The college was linked with Connect Career to Campus (CCC) to bridge education and industry, enhance skills, and improve employability.
2022 – An NSS unit was sanctioned by the University of Kerala (Unit No. KL-07-160).2023 – Sree Narayana Guru Open University recognised the college as an examination centre for UG and PG programmes.
2024-Selected as NSS contingent from Kerala University in the National Integration Camp held in the Law University ,Karnataka.
2024–Mr.Hridai Kishore M.Ed. student (2022-2024 Batch) from English Optional secured Fourth Rank in the M.Ed. Degree Examination
2024 – DB Montessori International Teacher Training Institute was started.
2024 – Appreciation was received from South Indian Bank for remarkable efforts in providing exceptional education and shaping young minds.
2024 – Submission of the NAAC -AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report-2023-2024).2025 – Seventeen teaching practice schools were sanctioned by the District Educational Officer (DEO),Kollam.
2025 – Approved as a centre of CACEE (Centre for Adult Continuing Education and. Extension)University of Kerala, offering certificate course in Yoga and Meditation,
2025 – KIRF was submitted to enhance institutional quality and performance.2025 – Application submitted to be included under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.
